Happy anniversary, Mom and Dad!  We celebrated at Lindey's, a German Village restaurant that has been around as long as my parents marriage.  It used to be The Lindenhoff - and Mom described her 1971 date there with dad in great detail.  Both establishments - Lindey's and E&K - have aged quite well.  Don't they look great?!

Maria and I made cookies!  Not the most beautiful process, but they turned out delicious.  And, all from scratch.  Best icing recipe ever...compliments of my mom and sister, compliments of Betty Crocker:

- 2 cups powdered sugar

- 1/2 cup Crisco

- 1/4 cup milk (add more if you want your icing thinner)

- 1/4 tsp almond extract

- Mix together!
