Sweet Tea Tour, day 1, part 2.
We spent the late-afternoon and evening at Samford University on the other side of downtown Birmingham. What a stunning campus! Beautiful European architecture. The students were "super awesome" (a term our tour guide used liberally) and very energetic. You could tell they love Samford and are very involved in campus life. Seventy percent of students are from out of state, but mostly the south. We ate dinner in the president's home on the mountainside overlooking campus. What a house and what a view! Shrimp and grits - you can't beat it. "For God. For education. Forever."
